Rev. Vic and Freddie,
I am so sorry I couldn't be there to sing with the reunion of the Cornerstone Choir a few weeks ago. Although I no longer live in Arkansas, Pulaski Heights has always been and will always feel like home for me. Both of you were a huge part of that. I love you both and wish you the best in retirement!

Wow, 18 years and that is about the beginning of my being a church secretary. I attended Bethel UMC, a little Methodist church in ICO, AR. What a diverse experience it was working for PHUMC. I remember taping commercials in the cold sanctuary and telling you that your scarf did not match the last commercial. You were so kind in letting me know it was called a stole and it was changed because of the different season that was now being taped. I always read your sermons before I got them ready to publish on Monday’s; I was just taken about by how visual your sermons were every time I read them. Experiences at PHUMC were not limited to a desk–I got to chauffeur Len Sweet to and from The Rainey Lecture. I went to a lunch study you taught on the Book of Mark, served dinners at Administrative Council and I made coffee. I moved to Dallas and when I came back for family visits, I would call to see if we could have lunch, I treasured each visit we were able to have. You have been an important part of my faith journey. Thank you Vic for the lessons you taught me and for the memories made at PHUMC.
Enjoy retirement. Miss you, love you!

Rev. and Mrs. Nixon,

Thank you for your wonderful leadership and devotion

We can only imagine that leading God’s followers requires a remarkable faith.

The spiritual gifts you have shared with us make both of you priceless treasures!

You have taught each of us about God’s deep love through your daily lives.

May this be a reminder that we are SO thankful that our family was part of your PHUMC ministry!!

May the grace of God be with you now and forevermore.

Shalom

Dear Rev. Vic Nixon,

In addition to being a great teacher of how Bible stories relate to our everyday lives; the spiritual messages in your many sermons, have made me a better Christian.

Shalom.

You both know I love you. I don't worry about you in "retirement" either - I figure you'll both be quite busy either working or having fun...oh wait, they are both the same to you!
Enjoy yourselves - I know you will!

I want to thank Courtney and the amazing staff at CLC. My son, Nathan, will be attending his last day of CLC tomorrow. It's with mixed emotions that I send him to his new PreK class. CLC is home for us, and we've become close to many of the teachers and other families. Although I know that Nathan will excel at his new school because of all that he's learned at CLC, I'm sad to leave our little "nest!"

The good news is that Nathan will be more than prepared for his new school. He has learned so much at CLC and, most importantly, has been loved by each and every teacher there.

Our daughter, Corinne, will be leaving Ms. Jenny, Ms. Becky and Ms. Jane's class this week - moving on to her new Toddler A room. Although we're always sad to leave the wonderful, nurturing teachers in Infant Room A, I know that she will learn many new and wonderful things in her new classroom.

Being a working mom is not the easiest, but I can honestly say that I never worry about my two children when I leave them in the morning. They are in excellent care, and I know that the teachers and staff at CLC love our children. That is the most comforting thought in the world.

Thank you, PHUMC, for supporting the Children's Learning Center! And congrats on this new accreditation!

Our daughter has been attending CLC since she was 4 months old. The community that cares for her is absolutely exceptional! Their desire for her to continue to develop and thrive is nothing short of a blessing!
