Children

At PHUMC, we offer a variety of programs and services for children who are a part of our church community. Find out more about what PHUMC has to offer.

Vacation Bible School, 2008 Check back for updates here: VBS 2008. 5th- and 6th-graders must also complete the Release Form. Both forms may be printed, completed, and returned to church.

Sunday School    

Children must be 2 years old by September 15 to be in the 2-year-old class.

Sunday School is 9:15 to 10:15 every Sunday morning in the Norma Story Children's Building, which also houses our nurseries

Confirmation Class is offered to 6th-graders during the school year. It includes a comprehensive discipleship and membership training program. This class now falls under the leadership of Youth Ministries.

PHaith Connection, rotation model Sunday School, is offered for kindergarten through grade five. Children rotate weekly through Rockin' Revelation (music and games), New Creations (cooking, science), Art & Soul (art), Kids Voice (TV production), Acts of Grace (drama, puppets), PHaith Features (movie theatre), Discoveries (science), GodLink.com (computers) and Tent Tales (storytelling).

Nursery 

PHUMC has four nurseries with a wonderful paid staff to care for our babies each Sunday. If your baby is newborn through about 6 months old take him/her to Nursery I.
Once your baby is 6 months old and sitting up well and starting to crawl take him/her to Nursery II.
If your toddler has begun to walk and is age 12 months to 18 months go to Toddler I.
Toddlers age 18 months and older go to Toddler II.

ECA: Early Christian Awareness is offered each Sunday morning for infants and toddlers, beginning at six months of age. ECA teaches basic Christian concepts through multi-sensory activities.

Children's Church is our alternative to morning worship for two- to four-year-olds at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Classes meet in appropriate rooms, go to Chapel for worship experiences, and then return to classrooms for activities related to the daily lesson.

Children's Church II is for school age children with special needs during the 10:30 worship hour, See Kristie Finney for more information.

3rd Grade Bible Activities. Each fall, our 3rd-graders receive a bible as a gift from the church. Bibles are presented during the Sunday worship services. The following Friday evening is set aside for a bible Lock-in. Children are given instructions on using their Bibles. This instruction continues each Sunday in classrooms.

45 PHriends is for  4th- and 5th-graders who meet monthly for fun, fellowship and mission. Call Kristie at (501)664-3600 for monthly activities and dates. Or e-mail kfinney@phumc.com.

CLC - The Christian Learning Center is a daycare and pre-school that offers part-time and full-time care for children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age, in a Christian environment. It provides opportunities for learning experiences that are appropriate to the age and development of each child. Call Courtney Frizzell at 666-5683 for more information.
