Dear PHUMC Friends:
We have the privilege of serving as Treasurer and Stewardship/Finance Chair for this year. In these capacities, we truly appreciate every member’s support of our Church in so many ways, including financial. However, we are writing to inform you of our Church’s current financial needs.
First, our 2008 Ministry/Operations Budget reflects a $242,000 shortfall between proposed income and anticipated expenses. It is critical that this shortfall be addressed now.
Second, our financial contributions for the first quarter have been much less than expected. Our Ministry/Operations Budget has not been met and the cash needed to fund our Church operations is at a deficit level notwithstanding the overall Budget shortfall. Some bills have not been able to be paid.
Our personnel, facilities and programs are important to our Church’s mission. We certainly do not want to reduce our ministries because of limited cash flow.
We need your immediate assistance in meeting our Church’s financial and budgetary needs. We ask that you prayerfully consider giving one-third or more of your intended contribution for the year. Please also consider an additional contribution to overcome our deficit. We have enclosed an envelope for you to mail your contribution. Contributions also may be made on-line through the Church’s web site at www.phumc.com.
If you have not done so already, please consider making an annual pledge commitment for this year to the Church’s Ministry/Operations Budget. Please call our Church Administrator, Larry Sweet, at 978-0501, to make your pledge or to obtain more information about contributions or commitments.
Although providing this information is not an easy task, we believe it is important to let you know about our Church’s needs. Your contributions make our ministries possible and allow us to carry out our mission to love and serve God and neighbors. We appreciate your assistance at this critical time.
